We fade in on the arena parking lot. We’re in the loading dock area in the back of the facility. An ambulance waits, its back doors open and lights flashing. Two paramedics come out the arena’s back entrance wheeling a stretcher containing a battered Flying Eagle. His right leg is immobilized in a massive white brace. A tearful Candy is by his side.
Candy: [sobbing] Oh, Eagle! I’m so sorry this happened! This is all my fault!
Flying Eagle: [Angrily] Stop it, Candy! I told you before that I knew the risks. It will take much more than the sneak attacks of a coward to ground the mighty Eagle.
He notices the camera crew and motions them over
Flying Eagle: I have something to say to that gutless Mean Machine. If you think this will stop me, If you think this will keep me out of our match next week, you are badly mistaken. My injuries are only hurts of the flesh, and it is the strength of the spirit that makes a great warrior.
No mere Machine can defeat the warrior spirit. I will vanquish you in the name of honor, and to protect the girl I love. The Eagle has spoken.
He grips Candy’s hand and smiles at her. She smiles back through her tears.
Flying Eagle: That’s all. Let’s go.
The paramedics load Flying Eagle into the ambulance and Candy climbs in after him. The doors slam shut and the ambulance roars off into the night, siren blaring and lights flashing. We fade to black.
Note: This is intended to go right after the Eagle's match.
